Morris Desmoulin

Yaadsookenid Gaa-gii-bzindwaad

~”[Some]one Who Listened to the Sacred-story Tellers”

Morris Desmoulin (Yaadsookenid Gaa-gii-bzindwaad) Morris was part of a Biigtigong community effort in the early 1990s to document some of the traditional knowledge held by our elders and storytellers. During that time, he was gifted with some of our aadsookaanan, which hold the collective thoughts of our ancestors.

Morris has a profound appreciation for the philosophy and worldview contained within our aadsookaanan. He also understands the use of these stories in providing guidance and direction in our current Nishnaabe world.

Morris is committed to the reconstruction of our Biigtigong Aadsookaanan and to honouring the gifts bestowed on him by our ancestors. Morris feels extremely privileged to continue the work of his great grandfather, Moses Fisher.
